My first book was a collection of short stories called Hotel Malheureux. It was published and awarded Best Debut of the Year in 1995.
Since then I have written poetry, novels and more short stories as well as a few things for children. I prefer to deal with all literary genres and investigate the borders between them.
My latest work, a collection of poetry, På den anden side (On the other side), came to life when I was travelling in Mozambique, Africa. These poems evolve from the experience of travelling and meeting foreign societies and ways of life. The other side can be just outside your front door or it can be the other side of the planet. In particular the poems are occupied with the fact that there is a reality outside western european daily life and a very frightening one.

As a direct result of my experiences in Africa I am now engaged in an attempt to found a publishers house in Malawi, helped by malawian writer Shadreck Chikoti.
Aside from being a writer I make music, partly electronical, in collaboration with the danish musician Per Götz. We hope to have our first CD out in a short while.
I have since my debut received a number of grants for which I am very grateful.
